      BRITISH COLONIAL FURNITURE
Asia
Kanokthanom  heads up the Company's sourcing expeditions, drawing upon her father's many years of Diplomatic Service in various countries including India, Burma, and Nepal. As a young girl she developed an appreciation for Antiques and British Colonial Furniture from a variety of homes and palaces which she had visited throughout Southeast Asia. Today, finding these old furniture is becoming increasingly difficult but remains one of her passions.

Our Collection contains items found in both museum quality condition as well as in an adverse condition due to utilitarian use in kitchens, workshops, etc. Our exclusive solid teak collection represents a unique niche of the market that combines the elements from the fomer British Empire along with Southeast Asian styles and craftsmanship which create a Majestic yet Traditional finished work of art. Discovering and restoring the original beauty of these one of kind soulful pieces brings a tremendous satisfaction to all of us at TouchwoodAsia.

Thanks to a resourceful team of indigenous support personnel in various places, we are capable of finding these old treasures, which for the most part have been hidden from the general path of visitors or tourists. And, with an experienced in-house restoration staff trained in traditional craftsmanship, we can provide consistent high quality finished pieces to our clients.

Though we stock a full retail inventory our main clients are Exporters, Antique Dealers and Interior Decorators from around the world. Developing and nurturing these relationships is the primary focus of our business. Providing service from sourcing, interior design, and a retail perspective allows us to assist our clients with a large range of business needs.

We encourage anyone who finds themselves in Thailand to stop by our showroom in Pattaya and Chiangmai and meet with us in person. While visiting we can provide you with a wealth of knowledge about our pieces and their history, the styles and periods they repesent.....and maybe a touch of their soul.

" When you look at these furniture.....Victorian or Art Deco.....each one has been a part of the
European Colonial History. They were made by skilled craftsmen in Burma during the Colonial Era
(mid 19th to early 20th century)........a mixture of European Style and Asian Influence.

To find these old furniture and have them restored is my work and my passion. When I found them....
they were usually in heartbreaking conditions.....some covered in mud, dust and heavy paint. So I tried to
imagine how they used to look like.....and like a doctor, I tried to save them before it's too late.

Restoring these furniture is like bringing them back to life.....to their original beauties...It's like a Rebirth. When these furniture are restored, most of them will last for the next 200 years and more.

I personally believe that each furniture has a soul and it's own history, and by bringing them back to life
is like bringing back a piece of history. New furniture can be very expensive and sometimes poor quality....
But worst of all....it has no Soul. "
